  • About the Role

    We are looking for a Legal Assistant to join our Employment Team for fixed term period to cover maternity leave.

     

    Our employment team specialises in working closely with business owners and HR professionals in all areas of employment law, including TUPE.

     

    As a Legal Assistant you will provide an efficient and effective secretarial & administrative support to the Employment team, to ensure the department functions effectively and to enable the department to achieve its objectives.

     

    Duties will include:

    • Managing an administrative workload under the guidance of a fee earner
    • Providing administrative support to fee earners including file-opening, telephone management, filing/ archiving, photocopying, email management and dealing with the post
    • Drafting documents and bills, under supervision, using appropriate precedents and templates to accurately reflect fee earner instructions
    • Undertaking basic legal processes, under supervision, such as screening initial client enquiries, preparing settlement agreements and posting settlement agreements with bills as well as dealing with due diligence ID queries
    • Providing administrative support for business development and marketing activities including booking facilities and refreshments, booking specialist, preparing presentation materials and associated marketing documentation
    • Providing support for designated fee earners and act as a resource for the wider team, providing help where required
    • Learning firm policies and business processes, ensuring compliance particularly with regards to confidentiality, security , data protection and file retention and destruction requirements
    • Ensuring adherence to all affiliations and standards connected to the department

     

    About You

     

    Skills & Experience:

     

    • Previous experience in a legal administrative role is desirable
    • Legal qualifications are desirable
    • Minimum of 5 GCSEs, A-C including English and Maths
    • Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage a busy workload
    • Focused on delivering excellent client service
