  • About the Role

    At Royds Withy King, we pride ourselves on supporting our clients throughout their lives. Our Tax & Trusts team provide trust administration, accounting and taxation advice to a wide range of clients. The team work with trustees and beneficiaries to provide practical and financial assistance including Personal Income and Capital Gains Tax work as well as supporting the taxation aspects of estate and probate administration.


    We are seeking an experienced Tax & Trusts professional to join the team in Bath on a part-time basis to undertake the preparation and administration of trust accounts. You will work closely with junior members of the team to develop and nurture their technical and professional development.


    • Administration of existing client trust accounts including liaising with lay trustees, independent managers and beneficiaries
    • Run annual trustee meetings
    • Preparation of trust accounts
    • Carry out tax compliance work for trusts, estates and individual clients
    • Review all files with Partners or senior fee earners on a regular basis
    • Ensure accounts and supporting tax returns are completed and submitted to the Revenue before statutory deadlines, including Capital Gains computation
    • Advise clients of income tax liabilities and capital gains as appropriate
    • Raise you personal profile and attract delegated work; take responsibility for aspects of BD projects within the department
    • Supervise and mentor junior members of the team to assist their learning and development, effectively delegating tasks where appropriate
    • Manage time recording, WIP monitoring and billing consistently on yours and others' files and matters

    About You

    Skills & Experience:

    • Qualified accountant with storng expeirence of tax & trusts accounting in a private client context
    • Experience of working within a law firm is highly desirable
    • Ability to manage own matters with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to mentor and supervise junior staff
    • Strong client management skills with a focus on delivery of excellent client service.
    • Organised and able to effectively prioritise.
