  • About the Role

    Our top tier Employment team in Bath is seeking an experienced lawyer to join the team to undertake a broad range of Employment work for both employees and employers. The team are highly regarded in the South West, undertaking great quality work for a number of household names. You can learn more about the team here.

     

    As a Solicitor in the Employment team you will consistently deliver a high standard of legal advice to clients in a commercially astute manner, focusing on outstanding client service at all times. You will play an active part in marketing of the department’s services and undertaking business development activities to build on the firm and team’s reputation for excellence. 

     

    Duties will include:

    • Manage a caseload of Employment files, dealing effectively with cases and transactions including contentious and non-contentious matters for both employer and employee clients.
    • Manage time recording, WIP monitoring and billing consistently, meeting targets and objectives set. You will be expected to record between 5 to 6 hours of chargeable time per day
    • Deal directly with clients to take instructions and ensure full understanding in order to deliver on client expectations
    • Begin to develop a network of clients, contacts and potential referrers and attend networking events. Deliver training sessions and seminars for clients.
    • Research and draft articles and blogs. Assist with the production of marketing materials and input ideas into the business development plans
    • Coach and mentor support staff and trainees giving feedback to assist their learning, effectively delegating tasks where appropriate
    • Understand, learn and apply all business processes applicable to own work learning new processes as required 

     

    About You

    Skills & Experience:

    • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive.

    • Previous experience as a qualified lawyer in Employment law

    • Experience of dealing with a mix of employment work is essential (Both claimant and respondent)
    • Ability to manage you own files effectively

    • Strong client management skills with a focus on delivery of excellent client service
