  • About the Role

    Do you have a passion for Communications and a desire to work for an up and coming legal brand? Here at Royds Withy King, we are passionate about being lawyers ahead of the curve and therefore are looking for great people to join our Marketing and Business Development team to drive forward our communications strategy.

     

    Reporting to the Head of Communications, the role of the Communications Executive is to support the firm’s communications strategy through the delivery of internal and external campaigns using a range of channels. Duties will include:

     

    • Support the Head of Communications and work closely with another Communications Executive to deliver a programme of activities designed to enhance the firm’s reputation and strengthen its brand as “lawyers ahead of the curve”
    • Copywriting, editing and proofing of external communications, including press releases, literature, presentations and relevant content for the website and social media
    • Help to “mine” for news stories and other content from the fee earners as well as keeping a close eye on the media for reporting trends, breaking news and opportunities for commentary
    • Manage relationships and trade media
    • Help to deliver the firm’s internal communications strategy, working closely with business services teams (including HR, Operations and Risk & compliance) as well as internal committees to support their communications requirements
    • Help create and issue the firm’s internal newsletter
    • Become an intranet champion, assisting with all intranet related queries and training and helping to create content.

     

    About You

    Skills & Experience:

     

    • Previous experience as a PR or Communications Assistant/ Executive in an agency or as a journalist - Essential
    • Previous experience of managing national PR campaigns or writing for media- Essential
    • Background in professional services or legal- desirable
    • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to make sense of complex or technical content and turn it into engaging and easily accessible prose- essential
    • Strong attention to detail with excellent proof reading and editing skills- Essential
    • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject (marketing, journalism, english)- Essential
    • CIPR or NCTJ qualification is desirable
