  • About the Role

    As a Legal Assistant supporting our established and highly regarded Employment team you will provide an efficient administrative support enabling the department to function effectively and achieve its objectives.

     

    Duties will include:

    • Managing an administrative workload under the guidance of a fee earner
    • Providing administrative support to fee earners including file-opening, telephone management, audio-typing, filing/ archiving, photocopying, email management, online portal management and dealing with post
    • Drafting documents and bills, under supervision, using appropriate precedents and templates to accurately reflect fee earner instructions
    • Undertaking basic legal processes, under supervision, such as screening initial client enquiries, preparing settlement agreements and posting settlement agreements with bills as well as dealing with due diligence ID queries
    • Providing administrative support for business development and marketing activities including booking facilities and refreshments, booking speakers, preparing presentation materials and associated marketing documentation
    • Providing support for designated fee earners and acting as a resource for the wider team, providing help where required
    • Learning firm policies and business processes, ensuring compliance particularly with regards to confidentiality, security , data protection and file retention and destruction requirements
    • Ensuring adherence to all affiliations and standards connected to the department

    About You

    Skills & Experience:

    • Previous experience in an administrative role is desirable
    • Previous experience in a legal environment is desirable
    • Educated to A-level standard or equivalent
    • Legal qualifications are desirable (LLB or cILEX)
    • Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage a busy workload
    • Focused on delivering excellent client service
