  • About the Role

    As a Paralegal in the Compensation Trusts & Deputyship team you will provide an important link between clients and the firm, having responsibility for aspects of file management, under supervision.

     

    Duties will include: 

    • Managing aspects of files managed by qualified lawyers and carrying out simple routine legal tasks, under supervision
    • Under taking legal processes, under supervision, such as producing letters, processing payments, pulling together excel spreadsheets and general administration
    • All administrative duties including payroll for support workers employed by clients
    • Drafting legal documents using appropriate precedents and templates which address all relevant legal and factual issues and accurately reflect the client’s instructions
    • Undertaking effective legal research, using appropriate methods and sourcing, presenting the results accurately and clearly
    • Providing support for business development and marketing activities including preparing and researching marketing materials and writing articles and blogs where requested
    • Attending Royds Withy King BD events where appropriate to provide support and to build a network of business and client relationships
    • Taking an active part in promoting the firm through Social media channels such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook
    • Providing legal support to designated fee earners and acting as a legal resource for the wider team, providing help where required
    • Ensuring all work complies with risk management policies and procedures, including effective use of information management systems including storing and retrieving information

    About You

     

    Skills & Experience:

    • Legal qualifications (LLB or cILEX). LPC is desirable
    • Previous experience within a Paralegal or Legal Assistant role is desirable
    • Experience of dealing with difficult clients
    • Numerate with great attention to detail 
    • Excellent organisational capability with excellent attention to detail
    • Client service focused
    • Ability to undertake legal work under supervision
