About the Role

 

Are you an experienced non-contentious construction lawyer looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a Partner to head up our non-contentious construction practice in Bath. The team have an excellent reputation, ranked in the Legal500 and Chambers and was previously headed by our Managing Partner, Graham Street. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to take a lead on driving the growth of our Construction work through buidling strong internal networks but also actively promoting the firm externally.  

 

Duties will include: 

 

  • Effective and efficient delivery of work on own files, ensuring matters are profitable, whilst taking responsibility for the supervision of more junior fee earners with regards to file management and time recording
  • Build effective relationships with own clients and / or referrers by exceeding client service expectations and where appropriate, support partners on the management and development of larger key clients.
  • Raise the firm’s and own profile as an established expert in Construction & Engineering law

  • Demonstrate new business success from the BD activities

  • Take on a management role within the team, displaying leadership capabilities, ensuring the team performance to the highest standards, meeting agreed KPIs

  • Lead matter teams ensuring that roles, responsibilities and goals are clear and understood

  • Use management information to understand the performance of self and team

 

About You

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified solicitor with experience of working within a senior legal position
  • Clear business plan for growth proposition in the Construction department
  • Substantial previous experience within non-contentious construction law.

  • Strong client management skills with a focus on delivery of excellent client service

  • Proven ability to win new business through networking and targeted marketing activities

  • Ability to manage a small team
