About the Role

Our Dispute Resolution department undertake a wide variety of litigation work and are looking for a Paralegal to join the team in Bath. As a paralegal you will earn fees by carrying out legal work under supervision and supporting the team by carrying out administrative work where required. You will actively participate in marketing the department’s services and undertake business development activities when required.

 

Duties will include:

  • Screening new enquiries coming into the the department, including obtaining initial documentation and information as appropriate
  • Earning fees in line with agreed targets and managing a small caseload of your own, under supervision
  • Obtaining funding where appropriate and progressing such cases to a suitable stage for transfer to the relevant fee earners, under supervision
  • Assessing liability and quantum in each case
  • Dealing with administration duties as required, including typing and archiving
  • Undertake effective legal research, using appropriate methods and sourcing, presenting the results accurately and clearly
  • Provide support for business development and marketing activities including preparing and researching marketing materials and writing articles and blogs where requested
  • Attend RWK BD events where appropriate to provide support and to build a network of business and client relationships
  • Take an active part in promoting the firm through Social media channels such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook
  • Provide legal support to designated fee earners and act as a legal resource for the wider team, providing help where required
  • Ensure all work complies with risk management policies and procedures, including effective use of information management systems including storing and retrieving information

 

About You

 

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Educated to LLB level
  • LPC or ILEX qualifications are desirable
  • Previous experience in a smiliar role/environment is preferable
  • Enthusiastic and driven to provide excellent levels of client service
  • Target driven with a proactive approach to meeting deadlines and objectives
  • Well organised with strong methods for managing your time
  • Experience of using Elite is desirable
