About the Role

Following our very successful merger in 2016, we are looking to bolster our Dispute Resolution team in London with a key senior hire. Our London team are highly regarded for undertaking a broad range of Commerical litigation matters including banking and finance, insolvency, Propert litigation and IP. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious senior lawyer to help grow the practice further either through developing the existing broad litigation practice or bringing a new niche market to the firm.


You will work closely with the Senior Partner (who is also the Regional Lead Partner for the London region), to develop a strong business plan to grow Commercial Litigation work in the London office.


  • Effective and efficient delivery of work on own files, ensuring matters are profitable, whilst taking responsibility for the supervision of more junior fee earners with regards to file management and time recording
  • Build effective relationships with own clients and / or referrers by exceeding client service expectations and where appropriate, support partners on the management and development of larger key clients.
  • Set up and run client and/or referrer development plans which include client feedback processes and seek to extend reach into those by cross-referring work to other lawyers
  • Input ideas into the departmental business plan and assist by taking on responsibility for BD.
  • Demonstrate new business success from the BD activities
  • Take on a management role within the team, displaying leadership capabilities
  • Manages resource availability within the team and delegates work to the right level, monitoring and supervising to ensure quality and efficiency of output
  • Input ideas to the department strategy including product/ service lines and take responsibility for driving parts of the strategy
  • Keep abreast of changes in the legal sector and support partners in managing any required changes to working practices and business management


About You


Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified solicitor with experience of working within a senior legal position
  • Clear business plan for growth proposition in the Dispute Resolution department, ideally with a tangible client following
  • Substantial previous experience within Commercial Litigation law. Ideally you will have a niche practice area to continue to develop

  • Strong client management skills with a focus on delivery of excellent client service

  • Proven ability to win new business through networking and targeted marketing activities

  • Ability to manage a small team
